Junior Suite

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Gabriele d’Annunzio’s birthday (12th March 1863-2013) the Grand Hotel Gardone decided to honour its unbreakable tie with The Poet by naming a brand new junior suite after him. Notoriously, d’Annunzio loved beauty and luxury; and so he decided to sojourn at the Grand Hotel while waiting for Villa Cargnacco (later to become his Vittoriale) to be refurbished under his passionate guidance.

The structure of the room is a clear reference to d’Annunzio’s beloved classicism, like plaster sculptures that recall those at the Vittoriale. The abatjours are in deco style like those in the room ”Stanza della Cheli”. The ancient travelling trunk remembers those in d’Annunzio’s wardrobe. In this way guests can plunge into the atmosphere that made the nearby Vittoriale so great.

The W. Churchill Junior Suite owes its name to the fact that Sir Winston Churchill occupied it for some time, while visiting Gardone Riviera in July 1949. The room is very spacious with typical furniture of the period and comfortable living area. The two balconies are perfect to enjoy a delicious breakfast, a drink, or simply treat yourself to the splendid view of Lake Garda and the Borghese-Cavazza island. It comes equipped with a Carrara marble bathroom, jacuzzi and separate shower. The W. Churchill Junior Suite can be interconnected with a superior double room.
