  • “A life”, exhibition by Ferlinghetti in Brescia

    Not only Verona: Brescia is the other great touristic capital on Lake Garda that is becoming a touristic centre thanks to its cultural heritage and its touristic offer. The last initiative is the exhibition “A life: beat generation, revolution, poetry” dedicated to Lawrence Ferlinghetti. It has been inaugurated on Saturday in the marvellous location of the Museum Santa Giulia. This exhibition is a gift to one of the most important artist of XXth century to underline his link with the city: his father was born in Brescia. Poet, painter, editor, Ferlinghetti with Kerouac and Ginsberg had a key role in making known the beat generation. He has been remembered in an exhibition itinerary with pictures, printed materials, video records and other masterpieces painted by the artist. “This retrospective on my life is an extraordinary way to give a sense to my 98 years” – said the poet that was born in 1919. “A life” will be open till 14thJanuray every day from 9 am to 6 pm (on Thursday till 10 pm).
