• Salò, the artist Uto Ughi inaugurates the violin festival


    A famous artist in the city of the first violin maker. On Sunday 23rd July at 9.30 p.m., the violinist Uto Ughi will inaugurate the 59th edition of the International Violin Festival that will take place in the marvellous square of Piazza Duomo. The artist will be accompanied by “I Filarmonici di Roma” and will perform different type of music: Beethoven, Pugnani-Kreisler, Saint-Saens, Sarasate. The tie between Uto Ughi and the orchestra “I Filarmonici” is based on a consolidated tradition: more than 40 years of collaboration. They have performed together all over the world and they have received prestigious recognitions like the Targa del Parlamento Europeo. Ughi is the most famous Italian violinist at present: a first-class artist and even this year he will inaugurate the prestigious violin festival on Lake Garda.


  • A green weekend in Salò with "I Giardini del Benaco"

    A surprising weekend in bloom on the Benaco shores, including health, herbs, organic produce, herbs, essential oils: these are the ingredients of the seventh edition of "I Giardini del Benaco", International festival of the landscape and the garden scheduled from 9 to 11 September on the Salò lake promenade.   • In Salò great appointment with the Italian lute music On 6th September at 9 pm, free entrance

    A concert to pay tribute not only to the Italian lute music but also to the genius, Gasparo da Salò that invented the violin. This is the event scheduled on 6th September from 9 pm in the Town Hall in Salò.  
    The Salone dei Provveditori will host the concert of the Ensemble Incontr’Arti coordinated by Dante Milozzi, first flute in the national orchestra of Rai that is formed by Japaneese musicians from the best orchestras in Japan. The great curiosity is that musicians will play instruments made by Francesco Bissolotti, one of the most famous lute maker all over the world. He was inspired by Gasparo da Salò, historic lute maker born on Lake Garda in 1540 and considered the inventor of the violin. In the programm will be performed music by Mozat, Fauré and Brahms: free entrance.

  • Sailing and gastronomy: Salò is waiting for the Garda Cooking Cup

    A unique competition of its kind, combining in a single sailing format, the quality cuisine, sports and Lake Garda excellence: these are the basic ingredients of the Garda Cooking Cup, a new event that on the days of September 24 to 25 will present its first edition in the waters of the Salò Gulf. The race will include forty boats equipped with kitchen and oven, on board of which forty chefs will compete in the preparation of a dish and a dessert to undergo an evaluation of a gastronomic jury, which will be chaired by the great chef Davide Oldani and hosted on a boat moored near the Victory square. The general classification will be determined by the combination of the result of the race with the evaluation of the dishes. During the two days Piazza Vittoria will host the Village Cooking, dedicated to the promotion of the territory and its products and to hot several cultural events during the two days.

  • Violin will be the protagonist of the Garda Musical Summer Festival in Salò

    The timeless charm of the violin will be the protagonist of one of the most popular events of the season: Estate Musicale del Garda (Summer music festival on Lake Garda), the international festival that this year celebrates its 59th anniversary. This event is dedicated to Gasparo da Salò, the genial lute player born in Salò and one of the earliest violin makers. An important figure that is celebrated with high-prestige events:

    All these concerts will take place in Piazza Duomo on lake promenade. In case of bad weather the concerts scheduled on 23rd July and on 5th August will take place in the cathedral while concerts scheduled on 28th July and on 18th August in the cinema Teatro Cristal in Largo Alighieri 1. We suggest you to visit the Museum Mu.Sa. in Salò where you can admire until 23rd July the masterpiece by Antonio Stradivari, that is the violin Clisbee of 1669, thanks to a collaboration with the museum of the Violin in Cremona.
