Our historic Hotel, Grand Hotel Gardone, has been active for over 130 years and was highly appreciated by distinguished figures such as Gabriele d’Annunzio and Winston Churchill. Grand Hotel Gardone is a renowned sector leader in matters of taste, beauty and quiet, and has welcomed prominent individuals including members of royal families, intellectuals and VIPs—ranging from Nobel Laureate Paul Heyse and King George of Saxony to contemporary rock stars such as Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Ben Harper, LP. For decades our guests have been enchanted by our unique location and environment, a place where they are still held and surrounded by history; so we are sad to announce that our Hotel will not open this year.

This is a big disappointment for the owners as well as for members of staff, collaborators and our loyal guests: we deeply care for them, and are saddened not to be able to welcome them this summer.

Making this choice has been very difficult, but we felt an overwhelming duty to be cautious. At this time of enduring sanitary uncertainty, when new outbreaks of Covid19 are still occurring in Europe and elsewhere, we want to be absolutely sure not to take the slightest chances, and not to put at any risk the health and safety of our staff members and guests.

Several collaborators have worked with us for over 20 years, and are our most valuable asset; likewise, we have welcomed loyal guests year after year, and have looked after them with the greatest care, offering services that unfortunately cannot be guaranteed at this time of sanitary crisis. We believe that we must offer an environment that is not only beautiful but also safe: only such an environment will allow our staff members to work happily, and our guests to enjoy their holidays with peace of mind.

As our guests know, Grand Hotel Gardone is not merely a hotel. It is a cultural institution, a monument that testifies to the history of tourism on Garda Lake and a facility that regards the quality of its services as its highest priority: we aim to take the utmost care of our guests, paying attention to every little detail of their stay as well their safety.

During this unexpected time, we will work to make our Hotel even more beautiful, renewing and redecorating its interior and designing new services; this will allow us to welcome you back in 2021 offering you the very best in hospitality, in keeping with our historic tradition of excellence.
