• A "House of Wine" to discover wines and extra virgin olive oils of western shores on Lake Garda

    Important news for wine and food lovers on the western shores of Lake Garda: at Villa Galnica in Puegnago, seat of the Consortium Valtenesi, was inaugurated the “house of wine”, a new project to create an ideal place to learn more about wines and to taste typical products of the territory of western shores. It will be open every day from 10 am to 5.30 pm and it will become a point of reference even for Garda oil PDO thanks to the collaboration with Aipol, the association of olive oil producers with seat at Villa Galnica. This villa has been inaugurated and opened to the public during the recent fair in Puegnago. 

  • A record-breaking biodynamic oil at the Grand Hotel

    The best biodynamic extra virgin olive oil of Lombardy comes from the Upper Garda Park: it is signed by the Giuliana Seminario company, which this year won a double gold medal at the 21st edition of the Andria “Biol Prize”, dedicated to the best organic productions of the national territory. The prestigious award went to both the Monocultivar Casaliva and the Blend: the latter was then also decreed best label at the regional level. Two products of absolute excellence in short, that you can also enjoy at Giardino dei Limoni, the à la carte restaurant of Grand Hotel Gardone. The Seminario company is one of the few in the oil field actually practicing biodynamic agriculture in Garda and Lombardy: a choice that comes from a great love for the land, and that applies to both the owned olive trees in the towns of Gargnano and Toscolano , located respectively in the villages of Fornico and Vigole and 400 meters high with a total of 2 hectares and about 500 plants, some of which are centuries old. Hence come the two company’s oils, which won several awards at national level.

  • Comincioli, Gambero Rosso awards the excellence of his Garda oil

    The extra virgin olive oil from Lake Garda has met great success all over the world. One of the most famous representatives is Mr. Gianfranco Comincioli from Puegnago, a wine and olive oil producer. He produces wine and oils of high quality that have been recognized by experts. His oil awarded by Gambero Rosso, an Italian food and wine magazine. In the prestigious magazine “Oli d’Italia” of Gambero Rosso two of his oils have obtained three leaves, that is the maximum score: the Monocultivar Casaliva and the Monocultivar Lecino Denocciolato. Mr. Comincioli is one of the pioneer in olive growing on Lake Garda: he was one of the first company to valorise the different variety of oil thanks to different pressings. He has opted for the pitted olive pressing: a complex procedure that gives sweetness to oil. In this way an oil can get its unique aroma and taste. So, you can try this special extra virgin olive oil by Comincioli at our restaurant à la carte “Il Giardino dei Limoni”. We can say that this is the gold of Lake Garda.

  • Olive oil, here are the Garda champions

    The Paolo Vezzola Farm in San Felice Del Benaco and the company Madonna delle Vittorie in Arco have won the fourth edition of "L'Oro del Garda", the competition organized by the Consortium of Oil Dop Garda and dedicated to the best productions of the lake. The award ceremony was held last weekend in Cavaion Veronese during the first edition of "WardaGarda" the new festival dedicated to Garda Dop oil and its hinterland.

    Vezzola triumphed in the category "light fruity" with its Garda Bresciano Dop, followed by Cooperative La Verità (always in San Felice del Benaco, on the Brescia side of Garda) and by the Garda Dop Orientalt proposed by Franzini farm in Cavaion.

    Madonna delle Vittorie, important productive reality of the Trentino shore, was instead awarded first place in the "Medium Fruity" category with the Dop Garda, followed by Agraria Riva del Garda.
